We collect what we need to send you a carrier, and nothing else. Your card details never reach this site. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.

What we collect, and why

When you place an order we collect what is needed to fulfil it: your name, delivery address, email address and confirmation that payment succeeded. Your card details never pass through this site — they are handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. If you write to us, we keep your message for as long as it takes to answer it.

Who else sees it

  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Cloudflare — hosting and delivery of this site.
  • The carrier that delivers your parcel, which needs your address to do so.

That is the whole list. Nobody else receives your details.

Cookies and measurement

This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no third-party advertising trackers. The only thing stored in your browser is your shopping basket, which stays on your device and is never sent anywhere until you choose to check out.

If we ever add audience measurement, this paragraph is the first thing that will be updated — and it is checked against what the site actually serves, not against what we intended to serve.

Your rights depend on where you live

We ship to four countries, each with its own privacy law. Whichever applies to you, you can always ask us what we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Write to hello@thecatcarrier.com and we will answer.

  • United Kingdom — the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 give you rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction and portability, and the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
  • Australia — the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles give you rights of access and correction, and the right to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
  • New Zealand — the Privacy Act 2020 gives you rights of access and correction, and the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
  • Canada — PIPEDA gives you rights of access and correction, and the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept as long as accounting and tax rules require. Messages you send us are deleted once the matter is closed. If you ask us to delete your data and no legal obligation requires us to keep it, we delete it.
